God Is With Us in Trials
When adversity strikes, it can feel like the waters are rising too high or the fire is too hot to bear. Yet God speaks a steady promise into such trials:
Scripture:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you… When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched.” (Isaiah 43:2)
Reflection:
Adversity can make you feel like you’re drowning or burning—but God promises His presence. He may not always remove the trial, but He never abandons His children. His presence is your security in the storm.
Application:
Think back on a past trial. Write down how God’s presence carried you through. Remembering His faithfulness in yesterday’s storms will strengthen your faith in today’s challenges.
Thoughtful Prompts:
- When was the last time I felt overwhelmed, and how did God show up?
- Do I truly believe God is with me right now in my hardship?
- What does His presence mean for my peace today?
Prayer – You might use this to start a time of prayer about adversity…
Lord, thank You that I am never alone in adversity. Help me sense Your presence in every storm.
Closing Thought:
Whatever you’re facing today, hold fast to this truth: God has not left you. He walks with you through the deepest waters and fiercest fires.
